16 hours First Aid training course
The training is based on the Estonian Red Cross core education program, which is aligned with the training standards of the European Red Cross and Red Crescent Society.
The program covers the following topics:
• Assessment of the victim’s condition, first aid tactics
• Help with respiratory failure, foreign body in the airways. Revival.
• Stop external bleeding, shock and its signs.
• Wounds; causes, dressing technique; use of a scarf, pressure bandage.
• Injuries and fractures. Signs of open and closed fractures, their complications. Sprains, sprains, bruises.
• Poisoning, burns, frostbite
• Help with electric shock, drowning, overheating and hypothermia, convulsions.
• Training in practical skills in providing assistance to victims using the means available for this.
• Control of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
At the end of the course, the trainee receives an Estonian-accepted first aid course certificate, which must be submitted during the application for a firearms permit.
